Over 10 Lankan companies for Maldives fair

Fair - Over 10 Sri Lankan companies would take part in the ABEX construction fair, which will be held in Maldives in May. Over sixty percent of the stalls have been booked for this much-focused exhibition dealing with architecture and building material.

This is very timely say industry sources, with the construction industry in the Maldives islands beginning to be a pillar in the country's economy as the fourth largest and fastest growing sector.

Director, Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services (LECS) Imran Hassan said that this event would be important to Sri Lanka as the Maldives construction industry is booming. "This exhibition is the gateway to enter Maldives," he said.

This would give Lankan architects, construction materials, (sanitaryware, wooden products, furniture, electrical equipment and switchgear etc), construction machinery, contractors to enter this market he also said.
