The 2nd Maldives Mr & Miss Beauty Contest was held on April 12, 2007 in Hotel Riviera, Cheongdam-dong by Maldives National Administration of Tourism in Seoul Korea.The Maldives Mr & Miss Beauty Contest is an anual event to choose nongovernmental ambassadors who will promote the breath-taking tourist attractions of the Maldives which started in 2006, sponsered by Maldives National Administration of Tourism and superintended by Chundo Travel co. and CJ Media 'XTM.'
At the end of the first internet application , there were 841 applicants. It means the competitive rate of the first internet application is about 56 :1, considering only 15 applicants can go to Maldives.
The banquet hall where the second pageant was held on this date was full of stiff competition with 100 male and female candidates.
The last 15 candidates (five men, ten women) will experience Maldives for two weeks and will attend official events such as domestic and overseas tourism events as Ambassador of Maldives National Administration of Tourism.
