Eurofly tourists stopped at Maldives: the intervention

Rome, Italy - Other 60 Italian tourists blocked at Malé
(WAPA) - A week-end unlucky for Eurofly. After a technical hitch occurred yesterday to an aircraft that stopped at Maldive several Italian tourists, another aircraft of Eurofly remained blocked at Malé airport with 60 Italian passengers onboard, which would have reached Rome. Among the passengers also Italian ex-Foreign Minister Gianfranco Fini.

A press release of the carrier reports: "Unluckily, also the second Airbus A-330 aircraft had a technical hitch. The flight should had to leave at 12:05 am (9:05 Italian time) bound to Rome, and underwent a indefinitely delay.
There were 268 people aboard and 134 of which were re-protected on another Eurofly airplane, while 77 on another Italian carrier. Eurofly has already took care of re-protecting in hotel the others 57 passengers.

In the meanwhile, Italian Foreign Ministry (Farnesina) is working to speed up the return procedures of our compatriots.
