The Maldives welcomes its first Raffles property

Raffles Hotels & Resorts has announced its inaugural move into the Maldives with Raffles Resort Konottaa, the first property in the Maldives to be managed by the Raffles brand. The resort will be owned and developed by Platinum Capital Holdings Pvt Ltd, and will be situated in the newly developed location, Gaafu Alifu atoll.

Scheduled to open in spring 2008, Raffles Resort Konottaa will feature property firsts for the Maldives. Alongside the resorts’ 49 plunge pool duplex villas will be 22 duplex villas that are all over-the-water, a feature never offered before in the Maldives. The villas will offer optimum luxury with additional Jacuzzi pools, secluded surroundings and unobstructed spectacular ocean views.

The resort will be a 50-minute flight from Male to Kaadedhdhoo airport, and a 15-minute ride on the Raffles speedboat.

“The Southern Gaafu Alifu atoll, with its pristine waters and untouched surroundings is certain to be a haven for the discerning traveller in search of paradise and luxury. We are extremely gratified that Platinum Capital Holdings has entrusted Raffles to manage this luxury jewel,” said Diana Ee Tan, Managing Director of Raffles Hotels & Resorts.
