Tourism ministers of Bangladesh, Maldives meet Basil Rajapaksa

Visiting Bangladesh Tourism Minister Mariyam Zulfa and his Maldivian counterpart Gulam Qadar called on Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa at the Parliamentary complex on Thursday.

Talks held by Minister Rajapaksa with the two Tourism Ministers centred on the ways and means of expanding the co-operation among the three countries for the promotion of tourism in the region.

At these talks, Minister Rajapaksa also reached agreement with Maldivian Tourism Minister Zulfa to collaborate in implementing a series of programmes aimed at promoting tourist arrivals from China in particular.

Deputy Economic Development Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, Finance Secretary Dr. P. B.Jayasundara, Sri Lanka Tourist Board Chairman Dr. Nalaka Godahewa and Deputy Director General of Maldivian Tourism Ministry Moosa Zameer Hassan also participated in the talks.
